I'm back!!

Hi everyone!! Hope that you've all been doing well. I know that it's been almost 11 months since I last posted an entry on my blog but so much has changed in my life since then. My last relationship ended almost a year ago and I just became busy with finding a new home, moving into my new home and learning all the joys that come with home ownership. I also got into a new relationship with the most AMAZING guy 5 months ago and have just enjoyed being happy and content with him and his children. I can honestly say that life for me is good now and I've enjoyed finding myself again over this last year. That said, I haven't been able to really create anything in my new craft room since I moved...things are still a bit of a mess in that room and I can't wait until it's finally organized so that I can get back into my room and start creating. I do have a mixed media project that I'd like to share with you. I've never done anything like this before so I took a class taught by Linda at The Paper Pickle at the beginning of the month. I'm pretty proud of how my canvas piece turned out...I ended up hanging it in my craft room the next day.
It was so nice seeing what everyone else's canvases looked like...we all had the same layout to use but everyone put their own spin on it and all the canvases turned out so good. Anyways, I hope to be posting to my blog more often...I'll actually be having my annual Christmas card making day with my mom next weekend so I will definitely post pics of some of our creations. Hope you all have a great night!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Cards in Review - August 2010 to December 2010

Hi everyone! Hope that you are all doing well and enjoying your Christmas holidays. I'm really sorry for neglecting this blog for the past 5 months. I've been making cards and had every intention of posting pictures of them, but life has just gotten crazy these past few months and I'm only finding time to post pictures of my creations now.

I'm making a pact to myself that in 2011 I will get back on track with this blog and start posting pictures of my creations more regularly.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations...I'll most likely have a few more posts of pictures after this as I have a lot of cards to share!!

Midsummer Tilda

Hi everyone!! Hope that you are all doing well!! I'm on vacation in the Lonestar state this week visiting my boyfriend who's working here, so I am enjoying my time to just relax and recharge myself.

I wanted to share this easel card that I made a few weeks ago with you (I cased it from a card that I made in a card class at the Paper Pickle). I made it for a card mingle in the Magnolia-licious group that I belong to. The theme was "Happy Birthday" as the group just celebrated its 2nd birthday last month.

I stamped Midsummer Tilda with Memento ink in tuxedo black onto some white cardstock that I bought from my LSS, The Paper Pickle ( I can't remember which company makes it but I really like it), and coloured it in with my Stampin' Write markers. The rest of the cardstock and designer paper is from a Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions. To finish off my card, I used my scalloped edge punch from SU! (I really like this punch), some white organza ribbon from SU!, some Stickles and some green pearls.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card! I'm going to get out of the apartment here today and take a walk to the Hobby Lobby that I found when we were driving to pick up our supper last night (I love this store and didn't realize how close I was to one...I'm just going to have to not go crazy shopping there cause I don't want to pay extra for having a heavier suitcase on my flight back home). Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!!

- Sorry that the picture of my card is sideways...I've tried loading it a few times the normal way but it keeps coming out sideways, so I'm not sure what's going on with the Blogger picture loader.

Flying Tilda

Hi everyone!! I can't believe that it's almost been 2 months since I last posted a card...I've just been super busy with other things. I've wanted to share this card for a while but am now only getting a chance to show it off.

I fell in love with this Magnolia stamp (Flying Tilda) as soon as I saw it...I love anything to do with fairies and knew I had to have this stamp!! I can't remember where the butterfly paper came from, but I thought it was perfect for the card. I added some Stickles, sparkly flowers, and rhinestones to add a touch of bling to the card. All in all, I think it turned out pretty cute!!

Sorry for the quick post but I'm off to go and see the movie Eclipse tonight (soooooo excited!!)!! I've heard that it's pretty good and I can't wait to see it!! I'm hoping to have another post for you sometime this weekend with a couple of more cards that I've made, so I will talk to you all later!! Thanks for stopping by to check out my card!!

- For all you Canadians out there, Happy Canada Day!!

Tilda With Flowing Hair

Hi everyone!! I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted something on my blog. I had intended to post this card earlier but I wanted to make sure that it had arrived to the recipient as it was a Magnolia-licious mingle card for the month of April.

I'm really still liking the look of easel cards so I used a Magnolia stamp (Tilda With Flowing Hair) to help me create one (I cased the idea for this card from a class that I did at my LSS, The Paper Pickle). I stamped the image with Memento ink on cardstock that I bought from my LSS The Paper Pickle (I can't remember who makes it but I really like it) and coloured the image up with my Stampin' Write markers. The remaining cardstock is from SU! (Certainly Celery and So Saffron) and the patterned paper is from the Taylored Expressions Easter Key Ingredients kit. To finish off my card, I used some ribbon from SU! (So Saffron), a scallop border punch from SU!, some clear rhinestones for some added bling, and some flower stuff to just add that little extra something.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out and really glad to hear that the recipient enjoyed it as well. Thanks for stopping by to check out my latest card...I should have more cards to share with you again soon!!

Tulip Tilda

Hi everyone!! Hope that you are all doing well!! Happy Friday too...I'm so glad it's the weekend!! The weather here was fantastic today...sunny and warm out...unfortunately they are calling for rain for the next couple of days here in Southwestern Ontario (I shouldn't complain...we so need the rain).

I made this card about a month ago for a mingle in the Magnolia-licious group and wanted to be sure that the recipient received it before I posted it. I think this Tilda is super cute...she's a perfect stamp for a spring card.

I inked her up with Memento ink and coloured her in with a mix of Copic markers and Stampin' Write markers (I've been taking classes at the Pickle where the fabulous Linda has been teaching us her tricks on using Copic markers). The cardstock is from SU! (Soft Suede, and Rich Razzleberry) and I cut it out with my Curved Rectangles Nestabilities. The dp is from a Basic Grey pack (Green at Heart...love it). To finish off the card, I popped the image up, added some Glossy accents and Stickles to Tilda, and just added some clear rhinestones for a little bling.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creation...I made another card this afternoon but since I just put it into the mail this afternoon, I'm not going to post it until I'm sure that the receipient has received it. Hope that you all have a great weekend!!

Happy Birthday Easel Card

Hi everyone!! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend so far!! I just wanted to share this card with you before I go outside and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather we're experiencing here in Southwestern Ontario.

I made this birthday easel card for my boyfriend's sister a while ago but just hadn't gotten the chance to post it yet. As soon as I saw this Kraftin' Kimmie stamp, I knew I had to use it for this birthday card. I stamped the image with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and coloured it in with my Stampin' Write markers. All the cardstock, designer paper and ribbon came from the January Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions (I love how everything in those kits coordinate with each other). To finish off the card, I added some clear baubles and added some glossy accents to the image.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. I'm off to head outside to soak up a bit of sun and do some spring cleaning in my gardens. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

My first Easel cards

Hi everyone... hope that you're all having a great weekend. I thought I'd share my first attempts at easel cards with you all before heading out of town for the night with some friends for dinner and catching the Alice in Wonderland movie (I'm so excited to see that movie).

I made these easel cards for a neighbour who kindly plowed our driveway this winter and for a mingle in the Magnolia-licious group that I'm part of. I think for my first attempts they turned out good (I definitely am really liking the look of the easel cards right now).

All the cardstock, patterned paper, and ribbon is from SU!. The images were stamped in SU! Basic Black , SU! Riding Hood Red, and SU! Baja Breeze ink and coloured in with Stamping Write markers. I used stamps from the SU! sets Branch out and With All My Heart for the card for my neighbour and the Magnolia stamp Sweet Tilda for the card for the mingle. To finish off the cards, I popped the images up and I added some clear baubles, glitter, and Stickles.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my cards... I'll be back in the next couple of days to share the card that I made for my boyfriend's sister's birthday. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

P.S. Please make sure you pop on over to Norma's blog for your chance to win her blog candy in honour of her first blogoversary (if you click on the picture of Norma's blog candy on my sidebar, it'll take you straight to her blog).

Oh Baby!!

Hi everyone...hope you're all having a great weekend so far. I can't believe how nice the weather is here today (sunny and mild)...I really can't wait until it's officially spring.

I wanted to share this card that I made for a family friend's baby shower yesterday. I bought this Stamping Bella stamp (teddybella) and had a really cute but simple idea for a card in mind for it.

I stamped it out with Memento ink and coloured it in my copics (I'm just learning how to use them...I'll be going to a technique class at my LSS this week). All the papers and the pearls came from a Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients set (love how all the papers and embellishments in these kits go so well together). I popped the image up and added some glossy accents to a couple of the bags to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card!! I'm hoping to post some more new cards this upcoming week that I haven't gotten around to sharing with you all yet. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Easter Blessings

Hi everyone...hope you're all doing well. I'm so glad it's Friday...can't wait to get crafty at an all day card making event in Chatham tomorrow (so excited)!!

I just wanted to share an Easter card that I made for my friend's SU! workshop held this past Wednesday. I think this stamp set (Abundant Hope from the Occassions Mini catalogue) is just so cute and I love that the daffodil stamp can be used all spring.

I stamped the image in Basic Black ink from SU! and coloured it in with a couple of my Stampin' Write markers. I popped the image up on some pretty spring coloured dp and cardstock from SU! (Shades of Spring dp and So Saffron, Certainly Celery, and Orchid Opulence cardstock. I finished off the card with my Scallop Trim border punch, Whisper White organza ribbon and added some glossy accents to the flower.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creation...I have plenty more to share this weekend as I've been busy making cards all week (I'll have cards featuring stamps from Stamping Bella, Kraftin' Kimmie, and Magnolia to share). Hope you all have a great night!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi everyone!! It's been way too long since I posted a new card to my blog...a lot has happened since I last posted. My dad got sick at the end of November and every free moment I had was spent at the hospital with him...after a brief battle with cancer, my dad passed away on January 25th. It's been hard for me since then as I'm trying to take care of everything of his but I have plenty of support from friends and family.

This is the first card that I've made in a very long while and it's a Valentine's card I made for my boyfriend. I've been eyeing this really cute stamp (Eunice and Irving) from Stamping Bella for a while now and I picked it up when I visited the store for the first time last weekend.

I inked it in Memento Ink and coloured it in with my Stampin' Write markers. I used SU! cardstock (Kraft, Whisper White, and Real Red) and matched it with some Basic Grey patterned paper (Sugar Rush). I used my corner rounder on all of the corners and also used my cute new heart edge punch from Martha Stewart on the patterned paper. To finish off the card, I added some clear baubles that I picked up from Stamping Bella, a heart brad, and some Stickles in Stardust. I think my card turned out pretty cute and I'm sure my boyfriend will appreciate it.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my latest creation. Hope you all had a great weekend and a happy Valentine's day too!!

Miscellaneous cards

Hi everyone...hope that you're all doing well!! I just wanted to share some pictures of some of the stuff that I've been working on over the past couple of weeks.

The Christmas card was made for a workshop that I hosted on November 10th (I just love that Santa stamp from SU!'s Jolliest Time of the Year set...it's probably one of my favourite Christmas stamps this year). I'm hoping to get the last of this year's Christmas cards done sometime in the next week or so.

I made the calendar page for a Bella calendar swap...I chose to do the month of May as it's my birthday month and I'm really happy with how it turned out (I love that Bella stamp and I can't wait to see what everyone else came up with).

The final two cards are for some mingles in the Magnolia group that I belong to. I absolutely love the Tila with Sunflower image and I think the Dalecarlia Coat Tilda image is really cute too).

Sorry that I'm not going into major detail about what I used to make these cards and calendar pages...I've had a very stressful week with health issues with my dad (he was admitted to hospital on Monday and they've found tumours in his head and possibly in his chest too) and I just wanted to make this a quick post before I head for bed.

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I've been up to. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

More Christmas Cards...

Hi everybody...hope you're all having a great weekend! I just wanted to share some Christmas cards that I made today (my mom and I had our annual Christmas card making day...but we figure it'll probably take us one more day sometime this month to finish off all of our cards for this year). The stamps are from Stamping Bella, Magnolia, House Mouse and Taylored Expressions, and I hope you enjoy looking at my cards.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!!

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween everyone!! Hope you're all having a great Saturday! I've been wanting to share these cards with you for over a week now but I was waiting until I was sure that the recipients had received them.

I saw this stamp (Tilda with a Spider Web) and knew I had to use it to make these Halloween cards. I pretty much stamped them in Memento ink, embossed them with some sparkly black detail powder, and coloured them in with my Stampin' Write markers. All of the paper used came from the Halloween Key Ingredients kit by Taylored Expressions (love these kits). I wanted to keep these cards simple so I just used my corner rounder and some pop dots on the image to finish off the card. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out (although I wish I had made more Halloween cards this year...these are the only ones that I got around to making).

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful...

Hi everyone! Hope that you're having better weather than I'm having! It was so gray and rainy all day...just the perfect kind of day to stay inside and make cards (once I got home from work that is). I've started my Christmas card making and wanted to share what I've made so far with you.

All the supplies are from Stampin' Up!. I used the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit, Stampin' Write Markers, Basic Black ink and Versa Mark ink, embossing powder, Whisper White organza ribbon, Top Note die, and a bunch of different stamp sets (Dasher, Good Cheer, Jolliest Time of the Year, Berry Christmas and Patterned Pines).

I'm pretty happy with how my cards turned out and glad that I've got a start on my Christmas cards (I'm going to devote at least one day in November to try and finish them all up). Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations and hope that you all have a great night!!

Sunflower Tilda

Hi everyone...hope you're all having a great weekend! I just wanted to share some cards that I made last week for some mingles. I'm really loving this Tilda stamp right now (I think she has to be my favourite Magnolia stamp).

I inked her up with SU! Basic Black ink and coloured her in with my Stampin' Write markers. The cardstock is some of SU!'s new in-colors (Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Dusty Durango) and I can't remember which company the patterned paper is from (I bought it a few weeks ago and couldn't wait to use it to make some autumn type cards with). I ran the image through my cuttlebug with my scalloped nesties and popped it up for some added oomph. I added some glossy affects to the sunflower (love this stuff)and added some of the in-color ribbon to finish off the cards.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my newest creations. I got a bunch of new product this past week that I'm just itching to use so I'm hoping to get some more cards made today (in between spending time with my guy, who flys back to Texas tomorrow for work and helping him get his stuff ready to pack as he'll be leaving super early tomorrow morning to catch his flight...the good thing is that he'll be coming home again in 5 days for Thanksgiving weekend). Hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Christmas cards

Hi everyone...hope that you are all having a great Saturday!! I had such a busy day today...I went to a Christmas Card Making Extravaganza today where we made a bunch of cute cards and did some shopping (a big THANK YOU goes out to Phebe Meeder from The Town Scrapper for the super cute stamp and the Scor-pal that I picked up...can't wait to use them)!!

I just wanted to share some Christmas cards that I made this past week. All items used are from Stampin' Up!. The first card was made using Garden Green, Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock, Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP, the Berry Christmas stamp set, Stampin' Write markers (Garden Green, Real Red, and Basic Black), my Top Notes die and Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter.

I got the idea for the second card (which is a gift card holder) for a lady (sorry that I can't remember who it was) on SCS but I changed it up a bit (I used the Top Note die like she did). I made this card with Real Red, Whisper White and Garden Green cardstock (which you can't see because it's on the inside), Petals-A-Plenty Stampin' Up! Textured Impressions Folder, Jolliest Time of the Year stamp set, Mistletoe Ribbon Originals, Stampin' Write markers, and Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my cards...I think I'm just going to veg out for the rest of the night and finish watching Season 1 of Fringe on DVD (love that show)!! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Dragonfly Tilda

Hi everyone...hope you're all having a great night. I'm feeling a little crummy right now...I think my allergies are kicking in..but I wanted to share a couple of cards that I've been meaning to post on here for a while.

I love Dragonfly Tilda...I love anything to do with dragonflys so I fell in love with this Magnolia stamp when I first saw it. I inked the image up with Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad from SU! and coloured it in with my Stampin' Write markers. The cardstock and ribbon are some of the new In-Colours that SU! has to offer (Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango and Soft Suede) and the patterned paper is also from SU! (Razzleberry Lemonade). I added some pearls, rhinestones, and Stickles to finish off the cards.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my cards...I'm off to curl up a good book for a while. Have a great night everyone!
