Birthday cards!!

Happy Sunday everyone!! Where did the weekend go?? It feels like it flew by so fast!! I have a couple of birthday cards that I made earlier this week that I want to share with you and a project that I made yesterday while attending a block class!!

The first card is one that I made for my niece...she just turned 14 this past week (where does the time go? I can still remember when she was just a baby)!! I stamped out an image for the You Take The Cake set and coloured it in with my Tombows. I added some glossy accents onto the polka dots on the dress and some stickles to the flames on the candles. I also used my label nestabilites and my swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. The patterned paper is from the Bittersweet line by Basic Grey and the cardstock is from Papertrey Ink (White, Sweet Blush, and Dark Chocolate). I popped up the image and added some copper baubles from Stamping Bella to finish off the card.

The second card is one that I made for my sister-in-law...it was her birthday at the end of January but I didn't know about it until last week (sorry!! it's on my calendar now so I won't forget anymore)!! I pretty much followed the same method as the card above except I switched up the patterned paper (from the Urban Prairie line by Basis Grey)and the cardstock (White and Lemon Tart from Papertrey Ink). I again popped up the image, added some clear baubles from Stamping Bella, and some white ribbon that I had lying around. I'm pretty happy with how both of the cards turned out!!

I went to a block class yesterday at a LSS, Crop 'Til You Drop and thought I would share with you what we made. Lania, the talented instructor, came up with the idea for this block class...she's done block classes before but I've never attended them. I really liked the picture that I saw about this class and knew I had to attend it...I like that it's a decoration that can be kept out all winter long. Sorry about the angle of the picture (yes, I was lying down on the floor)...it's the only way that I could see the blocks without showing you what was behind them on the counter (dish soap and cleaning products).

Thanks for stopping by...I'll be back later this week with more creations as I have a card class to attend on Tuesday and I'm hoping to make some Valentine's Day cards sometime this week!! Have a great night everybody!!

I've been tagged!!

I've been tagged by my friend Jacquie!! Ok...so..here's the deal:
1. Go to where you keep your pictures, select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Then post it on your blog with an explanation of the story behind the picture.
3. Tag 6 other people to do the same, and make sure you let them know about it!!

I was driving to my mom's house one day after a storm and I happened to look up and see the rainbow...luckily I was carrying my camera that day and I was able to get this shot!! I'll have to think about who the 6 people I'm going to tag are (seeing as a lot of people have been tagged recently).

Happy Friday!!

Hi everyone...I'm so glad it's finally Friday!! I made these cards on Wednesday and I thought I'd share them with you!!

I used the same Magnolia image (Heart Jumper) on all 3 cards and stamped it with Stazon ink. I coloured the images in with my Prismacolour pencils and gamsol and added stickles to the wings and glossy accents to the heart and patch on the dress. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folders (either Swiss Dots or Heart Blocks) on the cardstock (which is from Papertrey Ink...the colours are Pure Poppy and Sweet Blush). The patterned paper is from SU!'s Valentine bundle and the ribbon is from Papertrey Ink. I also used my scalloped nesties and added some clear baubles from Stamping Bella to finish off the cards. I think these cards turned out cute and I hope that the recipients like them!!

Last night, I attended an opportunity night to learn more about becoming a SU! demonstrator and we made the small card holder and the candy bag topper at the meeting! I really enjoy SU!'s products and have seriously been considering becoming a demonstrator for a while now...I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do!!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by to check out what I've been making...I'm hoping to get some more card making time in this weekend!! Have a great night everyone!!

Happy Sunday!!

Hi everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend!! I thought I share some of the cards that I've been making this past week and weekend. The first 3 pictures are cards that I made in some classes...I didn't come up with the ideas...but I just wanted to share them with you.

The first picture is from a card class that I attended this past Tuesday at the Pickle. Linda was the instructor and she's always coming up with awesome ideas for cards. The class was all about making cards for kids and I love what she came up with (I really liked both cards a lot and I ended up buying the lion stamp).

The next two pictures are from a card class that I attended on Friday night at Crop Til You Drop. Sheri was the instructor and I like the ideas that she comes up with (I like all the cards but I think my favourite is the black, white, and red one for Valentine's Day).

The final two pictures are cards that I ended up making today. I've had these Huggabugg stamps from Stamping Bella laying around and I decided to ink them up. For the pink card, I inked up Stampah Huggabugg with black Stazon ink, embossed it with clear detail powder, and coloured it in with my Tombows (I didn't really get the pink colours to match...oh well...it's kinda hard when the room I was in isn't very well lit). I also used my rectangle nestabilites, some dots from Stamping Bella, and ribbon from Papertrey Ink (I just received my order from them on Thursday). I also added some Stickles to the wings for some shimmer. The dark chocolate cardstock is also from Papertrey Ink and the pink paper is from the Basic Grey Bittersweet line.

For the blue card, I inked up Luna Huggabugg with black Stazon ink and coloured it in with my Tombows. I used my rectangle nestabilites, some baubles from Stamping Bellas, ribbon from Papertrey Ink, and Stickles on the wings. The cardstock is Ocean Tides from Papertey Ink and the blue paper is from the Urban Prairie line by Basic Grey. I'm happy with how both of the Huggabugg cards turned out...simple but cute!!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been creating...I'm hoping to have some more cards to share later on this week. Have a great night everybody!!

Edwin's Snowman

Hi everyone!! Hope you are all doing well and had good weekends!! Sorry that I haven't posted any new cards for a while...I've just been feeling blah and not feeling very creative (I think it has something to do with the weather)...I'm hoping that I'm past that now and can get back to making cards.

I made this card yesterday and thought I would share it with you. I inked up this Magnolia stamp (Edwin's snowman) with Versafine Ink in Onyx Black and coloured it in with my Tombows. I used my plain and scalloped rectangle Nestabilities around the image and I added some stickles and Glossy Accents to the image. I also used my threading water punch on the card (love it!!) and added a glittered silk snowflake for the final touches.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card!! I'll be attending a couple of card classes this week so I'm hoping to get those cards posted sometime this week too!! Have a great night everyone!!
